What is the cluster?

St. Wilfrid’s and the Southwell Deanery

The parish has three representatives on Deanery Synod and these representatives are members of the PCC. The Southwell Deanery is split into clusters of parishes that work together as ministry teams. Calverton is the largest parish within the southern cluster, which includes the adjacent parishes of Oxton, Epperstone, Gonalston and Woodborough.

The incumbent at Calverton along with the Assistant Curate, Associate Priest and Reader work together with two Readers and one full time Stipendiary Minister from the other parishes to cover the ministry needs within the cluster. Whilst primarily based at Calverton, the Assistant Curate, Associate Priest, and Reader are all licensed to the five churches in the Cluster.

Each parish has lay representatives on a Cluster Council that meets several times a year to agree cluster strategy and set a schedule for cluster events and combined services.
