Calverton Community Oasis

The Calverton Community Oasis is a two storey Victorian building, originally a church school. The school opened in 1846 and closed in 1892. It is now a charitable trust with the Vicar and Church Wardens as trustees. There is also a small management committee and a caretaker paid on an hourly rate.

The building has had a variety of uses over the years. It is currently used by local groups for keep fit, painting, woodcarving, youth club, parents and toddlers, Nottingham Boys Choir, Sunday Club and PCC meetings. It can also be let for private parties and functions. The revenue is modest but does cover running costs with a small balance in the bank. Although fairly well used, its capacity is small and its location in Burnor Pool (a little away from the church) limits its use as a church hall.
