A Message from our vicar

Dear All,

I am looking forward to being with you in May, so I thought you might like some 'low-down' about me before I arrived.

I originate from Hucknall and my dad (now retired) was a farmer and dairyman. I am married to Julian who is one of the Chaplains at the Queen's Medical Centre. We have two children, Anne who is married to Paul and they live in Lytham, they both work at the moment in the computer industry although Anne has previously worked in the Leisure industry and until recently owned three Beauty Salons. Our son is Peter and he lives in a flat in Carrington with his two cats and is at New College Nottingham doing Media studies.

Julian and I were Ordained together in 1991 and worked as Curates at St. John's Carrington and from there moved to St. Aidan's, Basford. Julian then moved to the QMC and I took over St. Aidan's full time. St. Aidan's, ten years ago, was very run down with only a handful of people and the Church building was due to be demolished. After ten years, much prayer and grace from God it is now a thriving Church with a membership of over seventy.

Julian and I are both looking forward to moving to Calverton. I am particularly excited about working at St. Wilfrid's, from what I see I am very impressed. I see much potential both within the Church and the community and I am sure that the Lord will use all of us to forward the work of the Kingdom in Calverton.

About me?? I love chocolate, weak tea, cross-stitch and walking in the countryside. I dislike milk puddings, alcohol and cheese. (I'm a bit useless at a cheese and wine party!, but I am quite happy for others to partake). My pet hate? People who say 'I didn't want to disturb you Vicar, I know you are busy' - I am never too busy!

With every blessing.
